2- THE MILITARY LIFE OF THE ANCESTOR OF FRENCH CANADIAN BESNER FAMILY

In the context of the years of the end of the French Regime (1750-1760), the military life looked very little to what it became under the English Regime.

France needed men to defend her colony and assure the security of it's leaders. Those who secured it's function, early in the history of New France, were soldiers from the "Compagnie Franche de la Marine"
